Well…. This is one of my bucket list guitars. A lovely example of what is considered the ‘Holy Grail’ of SG models.
This beautiful guitar has definitely been through the rock and roll stages over the past 60 years!
The guitar is a players grade but that is going to appeal to a lot of you because finding one of these for this price is nearly impossible these days!
Please look closely at the photos but the main issues are listed below:
Neck reset and dowel at the heel.
Previous name carved on front upper horn. (Unfortunately not Hendrix!)
Some vertical cracking on headstock.
That said it’s fully stable and plays like an absolute dream. The heel repair was done in the late 60s and hasn’t moved.
